KSU @ 8:00am TRHD
We will leave TRHD at 8:00am for parade staging and check-in downtown (by 8:30am). There will be ample time to decorate bikes while waiting for the parade to begin (9:30am).
We can once again ride our motorcycles in the Raleigh Christmas Parade!
As most of you are aware, the City has put new rules and requirements into place as a measure to ensure safety of participants and spectators alike. Here is a summary of changes and need to know items:
1. Inspection of vehicles must occur before the parade. This inspection verifies brake lights, horn, tires, and mirrors on the bike, as well as the operator’s license with endorsement, registration, and insurance. TRHD has agreed to complete the visual inspection and verification via the form on the website. We will collect these forms from service on the morning of the parade.
2. We have to send in verification of insurance on every bike in the parade in advance. Those intending to ride should submit a copy or picture of their insurance card to Justine ([email protected]) by 11/15, if possible.
3. The parade rules are on the website. Highlights include:
• No throwing of objects or handing anything out (as in previous years).
• Riders (operators) must be 25+ years of age and have a valid license with motorcycle endorsement.
• Windshields cannot be decorated.
• Each participant must sign a copy of the Release, Indemnity, and Covenant Not to Sue whether riding (including passengers) or walking. This form will be available and can be signed the morning of the paradeor accessed in advance on the website.
• Those operating motorcycles must sign a copy of the attached Operator Safety Acknowledgement. This form will be available and can be signed the morning of the parade or accessed in advance on the website.
If you don’t wish to ride your motorcycle, we may have limited seating in the TRHD truck, and we also need members to walk with the banners. Please reach out or comment here noting your intentions re: participation.
Closed Event: Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. Chapter members. Closed Events are those events open to Chapter members and one guest per member. All guests must sign an event release. Be aware, all rides and events are subject to change or cancellation due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.
