We are doing a one night overnight ride to Asheville to support Asheville HD at their Grand Re-Opening Party on March 15th.  Asheville HD was closed with damage from Hurricane Helene and served as a support location for rescue and recovery efforts.  They reopened their doors on December 21st, and are celebrating with a Grand Re-Opening on March 15th.  The town of Asheville, NC depends on tourism to survive.  Our mission is to go support the town with our tourism dollars and share that the town is OPEN and ready for visitors.  We will stay in the downtown area, shop their shops, and eat "local".  

Ride details:

  • Depart Refuel in Apex at 8AM
  • 1st Stop for quick gas and stretch at Murphy Express - 100 Elmsley Meadows Lane, Greensboro.  Depart here at 9AM
  • Gas stop & dealership stop at Blue Ridge HD 
  • Arrive Asheville HD at 12PM

***This will be all highway riding on this day to ensure we arrive in time at Asheville HD***

After the dealership visit, we will ride to the hotel for check in.  The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the town.  The hotel is located in the heart of Downtown Asheville.  Walking distance to many great restaurants, breweries, shops, etc.  We have negotiated free bike parking at The Kimpton.  Those who wish to cage it will be charged the hotel valet parking fee.  

  • Sunday's Ride Home will include several dealership checkin's, a mix of highway and non-highway backroads, and a lunch stop enroute back to the Raleigh area.  KSU 9AM
